[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The FBI has updated its process for handling Identification Record Requests, commonly known as criminal background checks. To help with the FBI expedited Background Checks requests, the public now has the option of using FBI-approved “Channelers,” private companies that have contracted with the Bureau to receive and submit criminal history record information electronically on our behalf. These companies may charge additional fees for their services. So far, four companies are accepting requests; more are expected in the future. See the FBI-Approved Channelers webpage for more information. MR fingerprints is approved to expedite FBI background checks through our FBI-channeler provider. Please call us to better serve your needs.
The Identification Record Request/Criminal Background Check website also contains new details on how to challenge a criminal history record, including a listing of state identification bureaus that can assist in cases of missing or incorrect non-federal information.
No more mailing your Fingerprint Ink card to the FBI, getting a Money Order for $18, standing in long lines to mail the Fingerprint card at the Post Office and waiting up to 120 days to receive your results. Most often the time to submit your Fingerprints to the requesting agency (immigration court, school in a foreign country, etc) would have passed causing you frustration, inconvenience and additional expenses.
