Frequently Asked Questions

What countries do you serve for remote FBI fingerprinting?
We serve US citizens in 60+ countries worldwide including all of Europe, Singapore, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Brazil, and more. Contact us if your country is not listed — we can advise on the best process for your location.
How do I get fingerprinted if I am already living abroad?
Contact us first — we provide FD-258 fingerprint cards and detailed instructions. Visit your nearest local police station and ask for ink fingerprinting on the FD-258 cards for US official purposes. Most police stations in major cities can assist. Scan and email your completed cards to us and we handle FBI submission from there.
What is the difference between a state apostille and a federal apostille for FBI documents?
FBI background check documents require a US Department of State federal apostille — not a state apostille. This is a common and costly mistake. We always coordinate the correct federal apostille via our Washington DC partner. The 2-week expedited federal apostille is the fastest method available.
How long does the entire process take from outside the US?
FBI processing takes 7–9 business days after we receive your ink card. If an apostille is needed, add approximately 10 days. Total turnaround is typically 15–20 days from card receipt. Translation adds 2–3 business days after apostille receipt.
Do you provide certified translations of the FBI Identity History Summary?
Yes. We provide certified translations in Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, Arabic, Japanese, and more. All translations are delivered as part of a complete, apostilled, submission-ready package.
Can I use a Live Scan result instead of FD-258 ink cards for international use?
No. Foreign governments and embassies require a hard copy FBI Identity History Summary (Identity History Summary Check) based on ink fingerprint cards (FD-258). Live Scan results are for US domestic background checks and are not accepted for international apostille purposes. We handle both — in-person Live Scan for domestic use and the mail-in FD-258 process for international use.
